The District Chief Executive for Saboba, Hon. George K. Bingrini on Wednesday 28th February 2024 handed over the E.P Sec – Natagu Feeder Road (5.5km) feeder road for rehabilitation. The project is being funded by Ghana Productive Safety Net Project (GPSNP) a facility under the World Bank.

Handing over the project, Hon. George K. Bingrini underscored the importance of the road to the economic development of Saboba since that area of the district contributes largely to the food basket of the district. He further implored on them to work hard to ensure that the project is completed on time for road users to rake the full benefit of it. In addressing the communities, Hon. George mentioned that Nayil-Sachido, Buegmal and Kunjul are currently benefiting from Small Earth Dams and Cashew Plantation which will help boost the economic standards of the communities and the district.

The Zonal Coordinator for the Ghana Productive Safety Net Project, Mr. Nimo gave an overview of the project and urged the beneficiary communities to adhere to the rules of the project.

A 5-Member Facility Management Committee (FMC) responsible for day-to-day management of the sites and eventual maintenance of the road was constituted to kick start the project.
The Ghana Productive Safety Net Project (GPSNP) provides tailored support to the poorest households in Ghana to address the demand-side constraints to accessing services that would strengthen their productivity.

With both financial and technical assistance from the World Bank, GPSNP was initiated in 2018 with US$ 60 million and is currently underway to support the Government of Ghana to strengthen the country’s safety net systems and improve the productivity of the poor and vulnerable including women and persons living with various forms of disabilities.
