Two (2) communities hooked to National Grid in Saboba District

Both Nankpanboni and Wandamdo communities in the Wapuli area have been hooked to the national grid. This was made possible through the persistent efforts of the District Chief Executive for Saboba, Hon. George Bingrini.

The projects stalled due to technical challenges the contractor encountered in the discharge of his duties. The projects were part of the Self-Help Electrification Programme (SHEP) under the Ministry of Energy which sort to electrify communities within a 20 km distance.

The District Assembly is working assiduously with relevant stakeholders, government agencies and Ministry of Energy to complete the other stalled projects in Namongbani, Binchakiyado, and Jamoni.

Also, some 22 communities have been listed for Rural Electrification Projects within the Saboba District. A consultant from the Ministry of Energy will be deployed to conduct survey on the various communities.

The District Manager VRA/NEDCO, Mr. Richard Adogya advised the communities to take good care of the electric poles to prevent them bush fires. The communities could not hide their joy as they were hooked to the national grid.
