On Tuesday, 13th February, 2024, the District Chief Executive for Saboba, Hon. George Bingrini handed over a hand pump borehole to the good people of Kuwani in the Demong area.
The people of Kuwani have been confronted with water crisis for a long time. He admonished them to cultivate a good maintenance culture by ensuring that the borehole functions for a long time.
Women in the community expressed satisfaction about the quality of yield of water the borehole produces. A Facility Management Committee has been formed to ensure effective and efficient use of the facility.
Also, he took time to inspect a 1No. 7-Bed Capacity Maternity Ward with 2No. Consulting Rooms and Renovation of existing 1No. CHPS Compound at Demong.

The intention is to upgrade it to the status of a Health Centre when the project is completed. He was accompanied by the Assembly Member, Hon. Emmanuel Beninbe Maado who doubles as the Presiding Member for Saboba District Assembly and District Works Engineer, Mr. Seth Senyo Cephas.
The projects are funded by The Gulf of Guinea Northern Regions Social Cohesion (SOCO).
The Gulf of Guinea Northern Regions Social Cohesive (SOCO) project seeks “to improve the regional collaboration, socio-economic and climate resilience of border-zone communities in the target northern regions of the Gulf of Guinea countries exposed to conflict and climate risks.”
