On Wednesday, 11/06/2025. The Saboba District Assembly held its first Staff Durbar for 2025 to officially engage and interact with the newly appointed District Chief Executive, Hon. George Wumbei Bilimor.
The District Coordinating Director, Mr. Seidu Abdul Aziz who officially introduced the Hon. DCE to staff amidst loud applause and cheers, assured him of the unflinching and unwavering support of all staff of the Assembly to enable him to prosecute Government’s agenda in the District.
He added that the staff of the Assembly have constantly showed loyalty to every ruling government while holding on to their allegiance to the State, and he expects that to continue under the current leadership. He charged staff to remain professional and client-centered in the discharge of their duties.
Hon. George Wumbei Bilimor expressed his appreciation and gratitude for their commitment to work thus far. He indicated that he was relying greatly on efforts of staff to deliver on his mandate as District Chief Executive, adding that the reset agenda of Government required an all-hands-on-deck approach.
He encouraged staff to eschew tendencies such as absenteeism and lateness to work, adding that he would not want to be forced to resort to certain unpleasant measures to get any staff to conform. He urged staff to minimize the frequency at which they commute to Tamale and other places during weekends as it will reduce their susceptibility to the hazards on the roads.
Staff were given the opportunity to ask questions, make contributions and suggestions on matters affecting their work and prominent among them were: inadequate staff accommodation, deplorable nature of the Assembly Block, HR Issues, inadequate logistics, and staff motivation.
The Hon. DCE assured staff of his determination to make things better, adding that steps were underway to rehabilitate the Assembly Block.
