Farms submerged due to flooding in Saboba District.

Some farmers in Saboba District are counting their losses due to an unexpected flooding that rendered their farms useless.

Hundreds of acres of Rice, Cassava, Yams, Pepper and Okra have been washed away by the unexpected flooding.

Farmers were still recovering from the dry spell shocks when this unexpected flooding also showed its ugly face to further aggravated their worsen plight.

Over the past days, worried farmers have been peddling canons for long distances scavenging for whatever crop they can lay their hands on the affected farms.

More than 20 communities suited along the River Oti banks have been largely affected.

On a tour to some of the affected communities, Hon. George Bingrini seized the opportunity to empathize with the affected farmers urging them to take serious precautions when scavenging for their crops.

He also used the opportunity to call for support from benevolent organizations, faith-based organizations, as well as Non-Governmental Organizations to come to the aid of the affected farmers.
