The District Chief Executive, Hon. George Bingrini together with the District Coordinating Director, Mr. Haruna Abdulai paid a visit to Saboba E.P Senior High School where 60 basic school girls commenced a 5-day training in essential Information Communication Technology (ICT) skills.
The beneficiaries will be taken through coding, cyber security, and website development among others. Already 1000 girls have been trained in the Savannah region. The 60 girls were selected from basic schools within the Saboba district.
The training forms part of the Girls-In-ICT program being implemented by the Ministry of Communication and Digitization in collaboration with its agencies to bridge the gender gap in ICT in the country.
Hon. George urged the girls to take serious interest in the training as ICT has become the gold mine in the world today. He asked them to study hard.
